The British Virgin Islands has just been voted the best destination in the Caribbean in a poll by Travel and Leisure magazine’s World’s Best Awards. The annual accolades go out to the best in each category like best beach and best hotel.
The winners are judged by readers of the magazine and are brought about by travellers giving their opinions on hot travel spots that they have enjoyed. The island group was chosen as being the best overall in such choices as natural attractions, activities and sights, restaurants and food, people, and value.
“On behalf of the many talented professionals throughout the British Virgin Islands who strive to provide our visitors with exquisite and unforgettable holiday experiences, we are privileged to be named the best destination in the Caribbean by Travel and Leisure’s readers. This recognition is especially meaningful to us because it comes directly from the readers of a widely esteemed travel publication,” said Acting Director of the British Virgin Islands Tourist Board, Ms Hadassah Ward.
The British Virgin Islands has some truly outstanding natural beauty that helped them win this award. Activities on the island include scuba diving and sailing, there are also a vast amount of shopping to be done as well as some fine dining in restaurants across the 60 exotic islands.
